Dr. LeJeune has an unusual hobby – he enjoys restoring historic homes. In 1999, he purchased the McIlhenny property, a structure with graceful lines and an intriguing history. The home was built by the Barnett family in the early 1930s. The most recent previous owner was John McIlhenny, a descendent of the Avery Island family, where Tabasco sauce is manufactured.

The project began with restoration of the original architecture. Dr. LeJeune enhanced the building, adding more archways, a defining characteristic inside and out. A total interior remodel transformed the structure into an elegant dental office, with a warm and homelike atmosphere.

Views of the serene New Orleans style courtyard and gardens lend relaxing charm for the enjoyment of patients and staff. The Doctor’s philosophy of “form follows function” applies equally to his passions for historical remodeling and dentistry. He restores architecture back to its natural state, and he brings the most biocompatible materials and techniques to dental treatment, applying unsurpassed attention to detail to both.
